Over the last ten years Marian de Jong’s work has changed and developed in different ways. This is not only due to continuous work and curiosity on her part but also by constant experimenting and discovery in the visual imagination of atmospheres, nature and moods.
This has taken place first of all in the extension of techniques and materials; in the last years she works — next to acrylic — also in oils but also her formats of paintings have become more varied.
There are also constants in her development; she still is fascinated by colour and the pleasure of painting and creation of objects. Her work is still equally abstract as it was ten years ago and the inspiration in nature, the atmospheres and moods in the daily living environment are still important.
