World premiere: art on windmil

World premiere: art on windmills

Nuon windmills to be decorated by art
Amsterdam, 6 December 2011 – Starting from spring 2012 the Nuon windmills in Oosterbierum and Almere will showcase a special view of the landscape. That is when Nuon will start an art project together with Bubble projects (a Dutch initiative organising international exhibitions and challenging art projects).  Artists will have the opportunity to present their work on windmills. This will make them the first artists in the world to showcase their art collections on windmills.

In two wind farms, Nuon will make three windmills available for the exhibition of the art work and Bubble Projects will recruit the artists. With this project Nuon and Bubble Projects are literally and figuratively offering space for art in the countryside.  The works of art will be hung on the turbines of the Nuon wind farms De Bjirmen (near Franeker in Friesland) and Jaap Rodenburg (near Almere in Flevoland) for a period of 8 months, from March 2012 until October 2012.  During this period the works of art will be changed every two months. There are 24 works of art in total.

Artists should register before 8 January at the website www.kunstopwindmolen.nl .

A jury, yet to be appointed, will select the winners from all the submissions.

Artists should send a visual concept and an explanation of 100 words. This will be presented to the jury. From all the entries, a selection of up to maximum 24 artists will be choicen. They will have the opportunity to exhibit their work on a real windmill. The theme for this special exhibition is: Co-operations. The selected artists will be announced early in January 2012. In March, the first artwork will be revealed.

Dutch 3D art and spectacular paintings at Hilton Copenhagen!

PRESS RELEASE

October 10th 2011, Utrecht, The Netherlands

Dutch 3D art and spectacular paintings at Hilton Copenhagen!
Bubble Projects presents Janneke Rottier en Ben Amor, Oct. 6th – Nov. 4th 2011

From October 6th till November 4th artists Janneke Rottier and Ben Amor exhibit their work at a unique location: Hilton Copenhagen. Entrance is free en these wonderful works are for sale! If you visit Copenhagen for leisure or business, this is very good opportunity to take a look. But of course everyone is very welcome!

Janneke Rottier
Dutch artist Janneke Rottier lives and works in Zeeland, a province in the south of The Netherlands.
She grew up on the countryside where tranquility and space were part of every day life. These sentiments have become increasingly important to her. The countryside in Zeeland is a source of inspiration. A landscape worthy of representation. In many unrepeatable appearances and changing faces.
Her paintings feature near empty landscapes, unimportant and uneventful at first glace. Sometimes mysterious, strange and inaccessible. Janneke gets inspired by space, the broadness, a time of repetition in close connection with the cosmic rhythm of the seasons. Janneke uses sand and other materials in combination with oil and acrylic paint to give her work more texture. Colors are modest, a limited palette is being used that mainly consists of dimmed shades of brown, green, gray, yellow and white.

Ben Amor
The work of Ben Amor (Tunis, 1968) expresses a complete disorderly freedom. The artist sees the world as a spinning whole that cannot be caught into structures. Boundaries fade into a loose agreement with time and space. What is left is a total break with culture. Ben Amor paints with his heart rather than with his mind, searching for the unconscious existence with freedom and spontaneity as its keywords. Even though reason occasionally interferes with the choice of forms, lines, composition and colour, emotion takes the lead. This relation between heart and mind, conscious and unconscious, together with his rapid and intense manner, shows an expressionistic abstraction in which order and chaos, light and dark, enter an undecided struggle.

Bubble Projects
This special exhibition has been made possible by Bubble Projects. Since 2008 organisor of international exhibitions and projects where contemporary art, artists and art collectors come together in a very unique way.
