Launch of Nuon art route!
Bubble Projects presents world’s first art route on windmills, March – September 2012
One of the most powerful symbols of the Dutch landscape is the windmill. They can be found everywhere in The Netherlands and are a great energy source for many households. But these giant objects are also very suitable for other purposes…..
Bubble Projects believes that art should be everywhere all the time, that’s why Bubble Projects considers the whole of Europe as its stage, not only in public buildings but also the spaces in the open air, like windmills!
Together with utility company Nuon, Bubble Projects will present the first art collection on windmills in the world. As the first utility supplier in the world, Nuon will provide windmills for an art route. It is a unique project!
As from March 2012 art will be exhibited on three windmills at two different locations (6 in total): windpark De Bjirmen in Oosterbierum in Friesland and windpark Jaap Rodenburg at Almere. This way the windmills will be part of an art route that is open for public.
On the windmill a 2 meters high canvas will be attached on which the artist can present his/her work. These will be provided by Bubble Projects and can be used in any way the artist wishes.
Artists can sign up for this unique project of Nuon and Bubble Projects by sending an email to the following address: firstname.lastname@example.org
Before December 31th a jury of five members will select the artists who can present their work on a windmill.
